PFC Paul Balint, Jr.  was mortally wounded while conducting a dismounted reconnaissance patrol in Ramadi, Iraq.  As his patrol was returning to Combat Outpost Falcon, it was ambushed by Al Qadia in Iraq terrorists and Paul was struck by small arms fire. Despite the intense fire, Paul was quickly evacuated to Camp Ramadi but died of wounds shortly after he arrived.
