Corporal Christopher D. Leon , USMC
2nd Air and Naval Gunfire Liaison Company supporting Task Force 1-37 Armor
Born: 5 Nov 1985 Thousand Oaks, California
Killed in Action: 20 Jun 2006 (aged 20) in Ramadi, Iraq
Buried: Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia

Cpl Christopher D. Leon, gave his life in for his county at Combat Outpost Iron in Ramadi, Iraq. Iron was a new outpost we had just taken after a rather dramatic night attack across the railway bridge spanning the Tameen Canal. TM B/1-36 IN immediately began probing the enemy positions nearby. The ANGLICO team manned an observation post on the roof of the COP from which they could observe and support patrols as the crossed the open area that separated Iron from Ramadi proper. That is where Chris was struck and killed by fire from an Al Qaeda in Iraq sniper.
